The style of Comedy is witty and mainly based on love. The dialouge that the characters use plays upon everyday situations. Comic characters don't evolve during the course of the play, and their natures are revealed through their names. The playwrite mocks the attitudes and situations people find themselves in. Most of these situations begin with misfortune, but in the end the protagonist doesn't die.
The style of Tragedy is completely different. The language is solemn; the heros or heroins are never commoners, and their lives are dominated by fate. In some Tragedies the main character could be a "tragic hero" because he lives in suffering and madness caused by his flaws and in the end he dies or commits siucide. The villains generally expiate their guilt through death. These deaths are based on the concept of catharsis: a Greek word meaning "purification".
