If you were trying to say, "I learnt some of the Hiragana characters", then it would be like this in Japanese=> "（わたしは）ひらがなのいくつかをまなびました。" ...I think it will be really really good for you if you go ahead and learn the rules of the verb conjugations beforehand. Try writing with the English sentence also, so that the ones checking your sentence can give you accurate translations!
