Difference between "adónde" (= "a dónde") and "dónde":
Dónde or adónde are both used when you indicate direction.
Where are you going? = ¿A dónde vas?
And Dónde is used when you wanna know the location of something, or location of an event or action.
Where are the keys? = ¿Dónde están las llaves?
Where is the party? = ¿Dónde es la fiesta?
There is another "Donde" without "tilde" (´) or accent mark. That is used when the sentence is not a question. I wanna go where you go. Quiero ir donde tú vas.
