1. "~말다"와 "~버리다"

"~말다" is an "assistant verb" used when one stop an act (of the previous verb).

(Ex) 읽다 말다. = 읽는 것을 중지하다. (= 読み止す。)

"~버리다" is an "assistant verb" used when one finished an act (of the previous verb) with sad or relieved feeling.
(Ex) 밀린 숙제를 해버리다.(=たまった宿題をしてしまう。)
       넋이 나가버리다.(=魂が抜けてしまう。)
       바보가 돼버리다.(=バカがされてしまいだ。)

2. 그랬어

"I shouldn’t have eaten so much." = 그렇게 많이 먹지 말아야 했어.
(=そんなにたくさん食べないべきた。)

그렇게 많이 먹지 말아야 했어.
= 그렇게 많이 먹지 말걸 그랬어.
= 그렇게 많이 먹지 말았어야 하는데, (내가 바보같이) 먹었어.

'그랬어' is a detour expression, to tell something indirectly.
In the above sentence, '그랬어' is used instead of '먹었어'.

3. 숨결 하나조차 널 담게 해놓고

(1) '숨'과 '숨결'

In English, both '숨' and '숨결' is translated into 'breathing'.
But, '숨결' is '숨+결', a state of breathing. You can comprehend the difference by following sentence.

(Ex) 그는 숨은 쉬고 있지만 숨결이 매우 거칠다.
= He is breathing, but his breathing is very rough.
(彼は呼吸はしているが、息遣いが非常に荒い。)

(2) 숨결 하나조차 널 담게 해놓고

This phrase is very difficult to translate, so I will change it a little.

숨결 하나조차 널 담게 해놓고
= 숨결 하나하나에 당신을 담고(?)
= 숨 쉴때마다 당신을 생각하고(?)
= I think of you every breath I take(?)
