My Host Family Experience

In two thousand and twelve, I went to San Diego - United States for ten weeks in order to improve my English skills. I studied in an English course in Brazil for one year before I took this trip. It was a great experience that I will keep in memory forever.
However, I had some issues in the city. My first four weeks in the city I lived in a host family who treated me like a son. Every time they were willing to help me without any doubt. Nevertheless, the house was far away from my school and this situation was bothering me. After two weeks, I decided to move on to another host family nearby my school and consequentely downtown.
My new host family was the opposite. They didn't care about me and I couldn't switch houses again since the school didn't have time for this. So I stayed there feeling awkward due the fact that they didn't speak with me about anything.
Thus, this was my experience with host families. We need luck to have a good one. In my next post, I can write down about others situations in this exchange program.
