떡국(tteokguk) is a Korean traditional food.

We eat rice-cake soup(tteokguk) on the New Year's Day. We don't think we willgrow a year older if we don't eat it on the New Year's Day. We also eat it whenever we like to eat it. Today my family made Kimchi and we ate tteckguk with fresh Kimchi. It was delicious. If you hava a chance to come to Korea, I recommend that you eat it. If you don't like rice-cake, you can try to eat other foods. There are a lot of delicious foods in Korea. What do you eat on the New Year's Day?

Rice cake sounds interesting but I have never seen it before. I can't remember if we have anything special on New Year's Day but I know it is usually a quiet day after the celebrations on New Year's Eve.
