My Path to Studying English in the UK - Part 2 The number of students in the class was 4 - 8. My classmates had a variety of backgrounds such as a nurse, a salesperson, a high school student, a retired person and so on. They were very friendly, and most of them had been to the UK. We often enjoyed chatting at cafe after class. I got more motivated to learn English, but a month later, I could no longer be completely satisfied. I felt that I wanted to learn English more and more. And then, I added a 45-minute one-to-one lesson once a week. The fee was expensive, but I could use my savings which I was supposed to use for studying abroad. The one-to-one lessons were very helpful. I couldn’t ask questions a lot in the group class, but this time I had more opportunities to practise English skills. I also attended special group classes which were held once every few months. The classes I took were ‘Tourist Spots in the UK’ and ‘British Culture’. I learned English from about ten teachers in total, and almost all of them were from the UK. My classmates often told me about their travel memories in the UK. Therefore, I gradually became more interested in the UK. I thought “I want to go there someday!”

They were very friendly, and most of them had been to the UK. We often enjoyed chatting at a cafe after class. I got (became) more motivated to learn English, but a month later, I could no longer be completely satisfied. I felt that I wanted to learn English more and more.

And then, I added a 45-minute one-to-one lesson once a week. The fee was expensive, but I could use my savings which I was supposed to use for studying abroad. The one-to-one lessons were very helpful. I couldn’t ask a lot of questions a lot in the group class, but this time I had more opportunities to practise my English skills.
