What makes me connected to the languages I study?
I like to listen to people speaking French or Spanish or Persian. It gives me great pleasure even if I am unable to understand any of the words.By mere coincidence, many years ago, I came a cross these lines from a poem written by Antonio Machado: " Caminante, no hay camino, se hace camino al andar ". I read its English translation and it just fascinated me. I am motivated at the possibility of one day reading the original poem without the need for mediation of translation. This also keeps me going through the boring stages of learning Spanish.
I realize I would not be able to communicate with you without English. It is a necessity for me to to learn English. Learning English has become a journey. Along the way I have evolved , grown and changed in a good way. The changes are good and I want more of them. This is also the reason I keep learning English.
I would like to learn Persian so I will be able to read Rumi poems in his own authentic words.
The Japanese language seems like a whole different world to me. To be able to write in Japanese would be challenging but also an amazing experience. I am very enthusiastic about where my feet would take me and what kinds of paths would be forged while I am learning Japanese .
