Could you explain the difference between crispy and crunchy What is the difference between crispy and crunchy? I want to say eating shrimp makes me disgust the food because of the.... feeling it makes in my mouth

I think not 100% native English speakers would fully agree on the answer to this question. For example, what Tanya calls "potato chips" in England we call "crisps". Naturally, we would say these are "crispy" (afterall - it's in the name). For me, an example of crunchy would be an apple, whereas crispy would be a "crisp" (known as "potato chip" in USA) or well cooked bacon.

"Crispy" is more like for French fries and "crunchy" is more like for potato chips. "Crispy" is for things that get burnt, and "crunchy" is basically the same, but usually things that are "crunchy" don't have to be burnt to have the quality of "crunchiness." Does that make sense?

I would say that crunchy describes the sound of the food... it makes a crunch when you bite into it... and cripsy is about the same but it describes the texture more than the sound.
