TOEFL independent writing Question: Some people trust their first impressions about a person’s character because they believe these judgments are generally correct. Other people do not judge a person’s character quickly because they believe first impressions are often wrong. Compare these two attitudes. Which attitude do you agree with? Support your choice with specific examples. My answer: By the first communication with person it is impossible talk about his or her characteristics. In my opinion, we should spend a lot of time with someone to understand his or her personal characteristics. Actually, people in the first time of conversation try to be more attractive and have a good attitude. As a result, to know each other we need sometimes to realize our audience. Whereas, sometimes people just look like in the different way who they like. Sometimes it happens not because they don’t show their real face, but also they are hypocrisy. Even though some people make quick decision about other one, I believe that just sometimes we need more than one transmission. And this is not because people are bad and try to lie another one, but because they just look like this. For instance, I am not conversation person, so people by first meeting say I’m not interesting person and don’t want to talk to them. Honestly, it is not true about me. Actually, I just not talkative person, and that’s it. Moreover, if people talk to me for some period of time, they will know my personality and will be familiar with my attitude. On the other hand, some people just trust their first emotions about the other people. To be honest, I don’t like such behavior. People always make mistakes and influence on first communication not correct. Essentially, these people are so confident, because they don’t want to know more about others and think they always right. Sometimes only because of such behavior we lose our best friend and moreover, our destiny. For example, I had a friend who was of the opinion that first meeting show everything about person. One day some boy tried to be her girlfriend, but only because of his one mistake in the first date she couldn’t forget him. Whereas, all our friends and I were sure they could be a nice couple. In conclusion, I just want to emphasize that we should trust each other. Moreover, believe people can change and first date and transmission doesn’t mean anything. And also some kind of the people are more realistic and really loyal, and they give chance to others.
