The verb in a passive sentence is said to be in the passive voice which the subject does not perform the action of the verb. In fact, in a passive sentence, the action of the verb is done to the subject.
Likewise, the verb in an active sentence is said to be in the active voice. In an active sentence, the subject performs the action of the main verb.
