Talking with Brazilians is always fun to me. There’s laughter in almost every conversation I have with one. They tend to joke around easily, match the vibe of a conversation, and bring a sense of warmth and calmness with them. They really love to laugh, and laughter is such a powerful thing. Of course, this is just based on my own experiences with Brazilian family members and especially some of my older brothers who were born and raised in Brazil. I’ve noticed certain qualities that seem deeply connected to the culture being lighthearted, expressive, easygoing, and relaxed. Growing up around both Brazilian and American influences made me notice differences in personality, habits, perspectives, and energy between cultures. Even though I spent part of my early childhood in Brazil, I was mainly raised in the United States, so naturally my personality developed differently from some of my Brazilian siblings. I think culture plays a huge role in shaping people. The environment we grow up in, the values we’re surrounded by, and the way we learn to interact with the world all influence who we become. Every culture has its own strengths and characteristics. In America, qualities like independence, individuality, ambition, and personal freedom are often emphasized. In Brazilian culture, I personally notice more emotional openness, humor, and a relaxed social energy. Of course, none of this applies to every single person. Everyone is unique, and people experience culture differently. These are simply observations from my own life and family experiences. The beauty of culture goes beyond what words can fully express.
