Any recommendations for websites or apps that offer audio material with subtitles and interviews? I tried ted talk and spotify. Both of them are good, but either they don't have the subtitle or the content is all about speeches. thx in advance.🫶

I love the whole family of Easy Languages channels. Some of the other languages like Easy German or Easy French have a bigger catalog of videos, but Easy English certainly fits the criteria you describe.

1.BBC Learning English:
Why: This site offers a wide variety of audio and video materials, including interviews, news reports, and everyday English conversations, often with subtitles or transcripts.
Features: They also provide exercises and explanations to help with comprehension.
2. Elllo (English Listening Lesson Library Online):
Why: Elllo offers over 3,000 free listening activities, including interviews with native and non-native English speakers from around the world. Most activities come with transcripts.
Features: Each lesson includes vocabulary notes, audio, and a quiz.
3.Netflix:
Why: While not specifically for learning English, Netflix has a large collection of documentaries, series, and movies with subtitles in English. You can find content that includes interviews and real-life conversations.
Tip: Use the “Language Learning with Netflix” extension (for Chrome) to enhance your learning experience with dual subtitles and more.
4. Audible (Amazon):
Why: Audible offers a huge library of audiobooks, including interviews, memoirs, and non-fiction that often resemble interview-style conversations. While it doesn't always have subtitles, many audiobooks come with an accompanying eBook that you can follow along with.
Features: You can slow down the audio speed to make it easier to follow.
5. Podcasts with Transcripts:
Why: Many podcasts come with transcripts or show notes that can serve as subtitles. Check out websites like NPR or BBC Podcasts where they often provide transcripts.
Example: The “How I Built This” podcast from NPR features interviews with entrepreneurs and provides a transcript for each episode.

What about the news with closed caption?
Many news in CNN for example have videos and come with the closed caption. The news are a good way to improve languages because people speak at a normal speed and use the correct vocabulary, as opposed to movies where they scream or use slangs.
