Fungi is what we call an “umbrella term” meaning that it refers broadly to the domain of life (like bacteria for example). There are many types of fungi and mushrooms are just one type of fungi!

Fungi is the name of a kingdom and Mushrooms are a subclass within Kingdom Fungi.

Mushrooms are fungi that look like little nuclear bomb clouds 🍄. There are lots of fungi that aren't mushrooms. For instance, if you have water damage in your house and see black mold growing on it, that is a type of fungus/fungi but it's not a mushroom.
