Club Med has this position called "Chief of Village" in their resorts.
I'm wondering what they mean by "village"? Is it a lingo for resort industry? Because of course, it won't mean he's a headman of a small village. Does it means Chief of resort?

I was curious about this because I had no idea what it could mean. It turns out, Club Med has a special webpage to explain some of the words they use in strange ways: https://www.clubmed.us/l/key-terms
Most people would not call a resort a "village," or call the manager of a resort a "chief" of a village. It looks like this is a usage that Club Med invented, because they wanted their resorts to sound very local and exotic, as if you were visiting a small village in a remote place.
