What is the difference between 缘分 and 命运?Based upon the responses so far ming yun is like destiny/fate as it relates to ones whole life...it was my destiny to become a teacher...yuan fen is better translated into English as a verb form...I was destined/fated to meet you...yes? no?

命运强调的是整体，一个人由生至死，所有发生在他身上的一切，都已经被注定了，这是命运，谁也逃不开。
缘分强调的是片段，今天张三认识了李四，这就是他们的缘分，但张三也有可能没有这个缘分去认识李四。

I guess the differences between "缘分“ and "命运" is the same as those between "fate" and "destiny".

"缘分" stands for  important encounters in life, which can be only explained by the God. It emphasizes a lot on episodes in life, however, "命运“ emphasizes on people's whole life.
For example:
Destiny I love you, my fate is you. 
命中注定我爱你，我的缘分就是你。
