Is there any difference between "I don't have a boyfriend" and "I have not a boyfriend"?
"I don't have a boyfriend" is what you should use in modern English. We only use "have not" when "have" is an auxiliary verb, ie. in present perfect: "I have not found a boyfriend (yet)".
Using "have not" to show possession is an outdated form of English, which followed older Germanic rules of grammar. If a speaker said "I have not a boyfriend", it would sound overly-poetic and ancient. You might come across this expression in rare (poetic) cases: "I haven't a penny to my name."

No, there is not any difference :)
At the end a boyfriend still needs to be found. :))))

The second way sounds very awkward, and I would not use is.
You can say, "I have no boyfriend", though.

Sorry but I know that the form "have not" is wrong. "To have" need the "to do" for the negative form: "Don't have".
This is what they have taught to me. Is it a grammatical error?
