Also here we say "Avere gli occhi più grandi dello stomaco".
esempio: "pensavo di avere più fame, ho avuto gli occhi più grandi dello stomaco"

Ti tengono più gli occhi che la pancia. Italian figure of speech.
Pancia is intended like stomach.
