看 is reading books approximately ，and without any personal purposes ,and you can say 看书（it can refer to any books）,and it is used most extensively among these three words. 念 means read out.阅读 means intensive reading ,that is to say you read something very carefully and thoroughly.and we seldome use 阅读 separately (as a noun)in our daily life, except for one part of the exam papper . :)hope it helps :P
