Do you say "remember me to somebody" when you want to send your regards?

Hi Iris, although the term is correct, it's formal and old fashioned, and these days, we use 'send [someone] my regards' or 'send my regards to [someone]'.

I'm not exactly sure what you mean, but if you are telling someone to send your regards to someone else if you haven't seen that person for some time, you could say "Ask John if he remembers me, and send him my regards" or something like that.

No, not in that way. The sentence is very awkward. We'd just say "Send [someone] my regards." If you want to make someone remember, the verb is "to remind [someone]". "Remind him about our meeting later." Still, we wouldn't use "remind" in a friendly salute.

So younger generation would say "tell John I said hi". Or even younger generation "Tell John I said what's up"

Thank you,Chris. I'd like to speak as the younger generation does.:) So, sometimes we can't rely on our dictionaries.:(That's why your help is invaluable to English learners.
