Dialect
I wanted to ask the difference between 아/어라 and just 라. For example, on the show Answer Me 1994 they use the title 응답하라 instead of 응답해라. Is this due to the 경상도 dialect, a grammatical point, or both?

하핫 드라마 "응답하라 1994" 저도 너무 재미있게 봤어요.
드라마 제목은 재미있고 강렬하게 들리게 하기위해 "하라"라고 사용한것같아요.
대화체에서는 "해라"라고 사용합니다. "하라"라고 해도 되겠지만 그렇게 말하면 어색합니다.
I love this drama "응답하라 1994". I'm so sad it's finished.
"해라" is right in conversation.
I think the expression "하라"is for intensity of this drama.
The director of this drama use a bit of unnatural expression "하라". It may be intentional.
If you use "하라" like "말하라" in conversation, It would sounds abnormal.

~하라 and ~해라 are both used in imperative statements. But ~해라(~하여라) is used when there is specific object(person), whereas ~하라 is used when there are not specific objects.
(Ex) 네(you)가 응답해라.
시청자들(viewers)이여, 응답하라.

Thank you! That helps a lot.

no this is not a dialect difference.
해라 only used on an intimate casual basis while 하라 can be seen on exam paper or instruction coming from authority. Their tone is totally different. So be careful and do not mix the two up.
