I'm sure it's possible to learn Italian in such a short period. Mainly it depends on the learning style (i.e. the way you choose, the material...) and time you can devote to learning it. Recently I've run across one interesting methodics, but its written in Russian((( They assure you will learn Italian in 4 months. If you are interested in, I can share it. :)

It's definitely possible to learn *some* Italian, and even "enough" Italian. How much you learn depends on you.

A friend of mine has been in Italy for several months many times, but still doesn't speak it. There is some category of people that can't learn on its own without any help or methodics. :)

i think that the only way is that you come in italy without friends and speak only in italian,take some course and probably a good italian you learn,ciao e buon italiano
