¿Puede ser no estuve sino estaba?

Ayer hacía frío. (imperfecto) porque ayer es indefinido. No sabemos a que hora ayer
Hace un año que estuve en Barcelona. Hacía frío entonces.
estuve en Barcelona, porque sabemos que la acción terminó hace un año
hacía frío ( no sabemos durante cuanto tiempo hacía frío )
