Identifying errors in the following sentences 1 Would you please help me find the errors in the following sentences: 1-Gyrating oil prices - with the exception of a brief spike during the Gulf War- have become a thing of the past (shouldn't it be "things of the past" instead of "a thing of the past"?) 2- perhaps they are rejecting the vulgarity that is so common in an everyday speech. ("an" is the problem?) 3-...aren't treated so badly to be starved .( I think to starve is the correct choice but why?) 4- Perfection, is a harmonious expansion of all the powers which make the worth and beauty of human nature, and is consistent with the overdevelopment of one power at the expense of the rest. 5- For many people gray hair and wrinkles begin in 40s, and they become aware of declining health and vitality in 50s.
