Today, I saw my neighbor when I was walking. Then I said "how are you" and he replied "I'm alright". What should I answer? Can I just pass by and continue walking?
After greeting my neighbor, what should I say when I want to leave? Can I say "bye"?

You can say: "That's good to hear."
When you are leaving, you can say: "See you later."
