This sayings are not really useble in lithuania but if you want to say that something is eatable, you can use them. But it's better to say Valgomas/valgoma. Actually it means same.

using with other words like dirbtinas/dirbtina it can mean artificial, made or produced by human beings rather than occurring naturally.
