what does " out of employment" mean?
I've bumped into the following sentence in my TOEIC Test, and I really don't understand its meaning. Could you please give me some explanation?
" He is regrettably out of employment".

I have never heard or seen it expressed that way before. Usually the expression is "out of work" or "unemployed".

To not have a job. " A large percentage of teenagers in London are currently out of employment " :)

It means he lost his previous job. He may have been fired or he may have quit, but he doesn't have a job now.
