What is the difference between or and nor?

Sometimes "nor" and "or" can be used interchangeably. But don't worry. You're not alone in trying to figure out the difference between these two words; many English learners have trouble with learning the difference between them. :)
One thing to remember is that, "nor," is often used in the same sentence as the word, "neither." So for example.....
1. "I like neither potatoes nor eggs."
But the word "or" would most likely follow the word "either" in a sentence. For example.
2. "I like either potatoes or eggs."
In the first sentence, the speaker is saying that they don't like potatoes and eggs. But in the second sentence the speaker is saying that they like potatoes and eggs. So, the first sentence is being negative, and the second sentence is being positive.
But, if you ever use one in the wrong way, don't worry too much. :) Native speakers will help you along and it's not a huge grammar mistake, as we English speakers often mess up, too. :)
