A boy, it is a beautiful name as it wishes happiness to the child and to the future man. For a girl, a name with a similar meaning is 'Ilaria'.

The name "Felice" is for a boy, while for a girl is "Felicita or Felicetta". I think it is more common to hear the name of the boy, but I only heard it for people in their 40s or 50s and generally in South Italy. I knew a Felicita, and she was a friend of my granny.

Not an answer but a tangent: the English equivalent is Felix (m) and Felicity (f).
