It's not hard, but it can take over a year to learn all of the different characters along with the two alphabets. Several years to learn the words, grammar, and achieve mastery. It's not hard, there's just a lot to learn. Just like most foreign languages.

You would be better to put this in the 'learn Japanese' section, rather than 'learn English'.
