about kids It is normal for young children to fall, bump, and bang themselves, which sometimes results in bruises, marks, or injuries. What would you consider in making a decision whether or not to report a concern to Child Welfare? What would be your answer?

Why don't you write an answer and post it on Notebook for a correction? You could also start a new Discussion with your own ideas.

It is normal for young children to fall, bump, and bang against one another, and sometimes it may result in bruises, body marks or injuries. But when will you consider it to be the time that you have to make a decision on whether to report to the child welfare department if it is not because of the reasons mentioned above ?

It's quite natural for a young child to fall over on occasions, bump their head and be covered in bruises and scratches. There's a cause of concern though when a child is not their natural self. They'll act quiet, scared or worried, maybe a few days later their symptoms will be getting worse. On a closer inspection they'll be covered in bruises on the arms and wrists. A week later they'll have a black eye or a swollen face. This will be the point where a relative, friend or a teacher will realise it's possible domestic violence could be happening at home and the Child Welfare Team would be contacted immediately.
