‘很’----这个苹果很大：This apple is very big. General mood ‘好’---- 这个苹果好大：How big the apple is! exclamatory mood

In the above sentence: “很” is like "very" “好” is like "so" So, is there any difference between "this apple is very big" and "this apple is so big"? I tend to think that the first expression is used more in written, but the second is used a little bit more in daily conversation.

The first sentence is a kind of declarative sentence using to describe a fact that this apple is a big one. When turning to the second one , the speaker tends to express his emotion.
