Senence meaning 'He looks poised to be impreached over dodgy government accounting.' Does this sentence mean 'he is about to be accused for the accounting problem'? I'm not quite sure how the word 'poised' is used in the sentence above. Thank you in advance!

You are right. He is calm and he is controlling his behavior because he is convinced that is being preached over dodgy government accounting.
