How to pronounce “Raunce”?
In “Loving” by Henry Green there is a character Charley Raunce. What’s the right pronunciation of the surname? Is it /ro:ns/?

It looks French to me, so my guess would be that it's pronounced sinilar to "dance", except with the vowel from "dawn". I think that's what your IPA says.
