This sentence would sound best as: "I don't want to make things so tortuous for someone." I'm assuming "a guy" is not being used to refer to a specific guy, because otherwise you'd have to say "the guy."

make + noun + adjective + for + person
Examples:
The teacher enjoys making the exam difficult for the students.
I don't want to make life hard for myself.
