What does it mean??
I'm trying to translate these two sentences for my paper:
I just can't seem to find what 배재하다 means. I can't find the definition on naver but considering that it is used in a scholarly article, I assume that it is a real word. Anybody know the definition? Thank you in advance.

It's "배제하다" : to exclude; to rule out
Even many Koreans make this mistake because:
they take it as 배(排, to push away) + 재 (在, presence)
whereas it is actually 배(排, to push away) + 제 (除, to lift/to waive)
