Il significato è lo stesso, ma la frase viene costruita in modo diverso. 1) Oltre (che) ad essere grande, è anche pesante. // E' pesante, oltre ad essere grande. 2) E' grande; inoltre è pesante. "Oltre a" si usa in elenchi di cose ed esperienze, ma "Inoltre" si usa più spesso per introdurre un'altra frase con lo stesso argomento della precedente, che però è troppo strutturata ed è meglio scriverla separatamente dalla prima. 1) Sono stato a Parigi e Londra, oltre che ad Amsterdam. 2) Sono stato a Parigi, dove ho visitato il Louvre [ ; ] inoltre, sono stato anche a Londra, dove ho incontrato alcuni miei amici.
