Times when a bad day was just a bad day
It's from the movie Logan (2017)
A farmer complains to Logan because some company wants buy his land he doesn't want to sell, so the company sometimes shuts off water. Also the farmer tells about a "corn syrup" which is "in those drinks that everyone's having to stay awake, cheer up, feel strong, sexy, whatever". After that the farmer says "Used to be a time when a bad day was just a bad day." And Logan responses: "Mine still are"
The phrase along with the response doesn't make any sense to me. Maybe it has some meaning I don't understand or those are just silly catch phrases?
