IELTS question Q#5. The number of steps above the water level in a stepwell altered during the course of a year. The ‘rain’ as season that is‘ the course of a year. But some year it doesn't rain at all. A drought last for years according on sentence in the regards. I don't think the rain does not represent the year and seasonal event. The IELTS question itself is OK. The text says "As their name suggests, stepwells comprise a series of stone steps descending from ground level to the water source (normally an underground aquifer) as it recedes following the rains. When the water level was high, the user needed only to descend a few steps to reach it; when it was low, several levels would have to be negotiated." The 'rains' refers to the rainy season of the year in India, so the statement is true. As for the site itself, it is appalling. The English is absolutely dreadful. Don't use it! Go to one of the decent sites which Michael recommends.

I don't understand your question. I recommend websites like ieltsbuddy.com and ielts-simon.com, as well as the official IELTS website. The one you have posted is full of mistakes.
