"o pinto sura" - what does "sura" mean (Brazilian Portugese)?
While reading "A Chave do Tamanho" by Monteiro Lobato I encountered the word "sura", the translation of which I could not find in dictionaries. What does it mean in English? Thank you for your time and help :)
Here are the sentences with this word.
O pinto sura não sai de lá.... Estava pensando nisso, quando um horrendo monstro surgiu no terreiro: o pinto sura.

Hey, Ksenia! Using a free translation, it will be "the chick without the tail", while "Sura" is an adjective that means "was born with no tail, or the tail was detached (like happens with a gecko - that little lizard)". I've tried to find the 'in english' version of this book to check how it was translated but I had no success. Hope you can do it to conclude that!
