What is what you usually say in Britain?
I mean the opposite of : start the car

Switch off the car.
Turn off the car.
Switch off the engine.
Turn off the engine.
Switch off the ignition.
Turn off the ignition.
'Shut down' is for things like computers.

We would normally say 'turn off the engine'.
