difficult and hard It's quite difficult to choose perfume for someone else. It's quite hard to choose perfume for someone else. What's the difference between diffcult and hard? Which one is correct. Thanks a lot.

In this example, both are correct, and the meanings of the two words overlap. Hard can be used in a number of different ways, i.e hard to do something, or the opposite of soft. Difficult is used to describe something that is not easy to do, or takes a lot of skill.

Because "hard" can also mean the opposite of "soft" it can be more clear to use the word "difficult" when you mean not easy.
