Can "researched" be used in this dissertation? Is the sentence below natural? Forest schools, which are researched in this dissertation, are are real theatres of environmental education and the pedagogy of sustainability. Thank you in advance :)

You could use 'studied' instead of researched, either way the sentence is correct, but sounds like a lot of academic writing, a little ponderous and heavy.
