Behave & act 表现/行为
Behave [V+adv./prep.] Act [V]
In fact I found behave is one among many meanings of act .What's the difference? I'm curious too.
*behave (yourself): to do things in a way that people think is correct or polite.
Behave could be a technical term too, which means to naturally react, move.etc,in a particular way.
Example: a study of how metals behave under pressure
Act v.:
1.to do sth for a particular purpose or in order to deal with a situation.
2.to behave in a particular way.
3.to pretend by your behaviour to be particular type of person.
4.to perform a part in a play or film/movie
5.to perform a particular role or function.
6.to have an effect on sth.
Anyway (anyhow) & although 尽管
When anyway (anyhow) is used to connect one part of a discourse to another, it could mean in spite of sth, even so just like although does. But although is used for introducing a statement that makes the main statement in a seem surprising. So before you decide which conjunction should be used, you must have known which part you really want to emphasize. Compare these two sentences:
1.Although small,the kitchen is well-designed.
2.The water is cold but I took a shower anyway.
Assent & agree 同意
Assent means to agree to a request*,an idea or a suggestion.
Agree is less formal. It means to have the same opinion* as sb;to say that you have the same opinion.
Ail & bother 打扰/使麻烦
Ail means to cause problems for sb/sth
Example: They discussed the problems ailing the steel industry.
Bother means to annoy, worry or upset sb.;to cause sb. trouble* or pain*.
Example: You don't sound too bothered about it.

Abide & bear 忍受/容忍
Abide means dislike sb/sth so much* that you having to be with or deal with them.It expresses a strong disgust.
Example: He couldn't abide the thought of being cooped up in an office.
Bear means you are not able to accept and deal with sth unpleasant
Example: She couldn't bear the thought of losing him.
It also means:
1.to not be suitable for sth
2.(written) to take responsibility for sth
3.(written) to have a feeling, especially a negative feeling
4.to support the weight of sb/sth
5.(written) to show sth;to carry sth so that it can be seen
6.(formal) to have a particular name
7.(old-fashioned or formal) to carry sb/sth,especially while moving
8.(written) to move, behave or act in a particular way
9.(formal) to give birth to a child
10.(formal) to produce flowers or fruit
11.to go or turn in direction mentioned

Abominable & awful 很糟糕的/极讨厌的
Abominable means *extremely unpleasant and causing disgust, it is the more emotional (or more derogatory).
Example: We were served the most abominable coffee.
Awful is a spoken word which means:
1.very bad and unpleasant
Example: The weather last summer was awful.
*2.used to emphasize sth, especially that there is a large amount or too much of sth
Example: an awful lot of money
I had an awful job persuading him to come.
*3.very shocking
Example: the awful horrors of war
Awkward & ashamed 尴尬/难堪
Awkward means a situation which makes you feel embarrassed or difficult to deal with.
Example: awkward silence
You’ve put me in an awkward position.
While ashamed means *someone who feels shame or embarrassment about sb/sth or because of sth you have done, not the situation.
Example: You should be ashamed of yourself for telling such lies.
I'm ashamed to say that I lied to her.
But awkward has other meanings:
1.not convenient
Example: Have I come at an awkward time?
2.difficult or dangerous because of its shape or design
Example: The box is very awkward for one person to carry.
3.not graceful; not comfortable

Attach & append 附加/添加
Append sth (to sth),attach sth (to sth)
Append means to add sth to the end of a piece of writing*, it is more formal in this case.
Example: Footnotes have been appended to the document.
attach has more senses:
1.to fasten or join one thing to another, also figurative
Example: Attach the coupon to the front of your letter.
They have attached a number of conditions to the agreement.
2.to believe that sth is important or worth thinking about
3.to join sb for a time, sometimes when you are not welcome or have not been invited
4.(formal*) to be connected with sb/sth,to connect sth to sth
Author & archetect 发起人/创始人
I figure you have made a typographical error here. Archetect, there's no such word in my dictionary. Perhaps you meant architect?
Both words have the basic meaning which I can guess you know very well. Thus I don't think either of the two differs greatly from each other.
Architect is a person who is responsible for a planning or creating an idea, an event or a situation.
Example: he is the architect of his own fortunes.
An author is a person who creates or starts sth, especially a plan or an idea.
Example: he is the author of a new theory.
Avoid & avert 避免/防止;回避
When both mean prevent, sth bad from happening, I'd say avert is a more written way to say avoid and the difference is hard to tell.
But avert means also:
1.to turn your eyes, etc. away from sth you do not want to see*
Example: She averted her eyes from th terrible scene in front of her.
While avoid means:
1.to keep way from sb/sth;to try not to do sth
Example: I left early to avoid the rush hour.
2.to prevent yourself from hitting sth
Example: I had to swerve to avoid a cat.
