How do you use "-게 되다"? What does "-게 되다" exactly mean? Can you tell me when you use "-게 되다"? Some sentences using "-게 되다" structure: 1. Please explain those sentences (what does "-게 되다" mean in each sentence) to me if you can! Thank you so much~ ^^

되다 has a few different meanings: 1. to become something, 2. to come to a certain action/state, 3. to work out. -게 되다 has the second sense. It means to end up doing something or coming to a certain state without intention. 1. I want to stop, but I still end up eating. 2. I got to see a movie last week. 3. (I/you/they) will probably do that (eventually). 4. What lead you to come here? How did you end up coming here? #2 sounds slightly unnatural because -게 됐어요 is a bit too big a phrase to use for something as trivial as watching a movie. We are more likely to say

I understand Jake's point, however, I will explain as "To do something". Because -게 되다 can be postive or negative meaning depeonds on sentence. 1) I didn't want to, but I ate 2) I watch a movie at last week 3) I think I will do that 4) How did you come at here?

"to end up (with)" is a good fit. - I don't want to eat, but I end up eating anyway. - I ended up watching a movie last week. - I will end up doing that. - How did you end up coming here?
