What are "gummy bears" called in the UK? Thank you :)
Does the name depend on their shape, which would make them "jelly babies" or "jelly bears" depending on what they look like?

Gummi Bears are Gummi Bears, they are a Haribo branded product available in any supermarket, and have been since before my children started eating them. Nobody eating one could mistake it for a Jelly Baby, nor would anybody with small children.
We also have Jelly Babies, an indigenous product that I prefer, as they are essentially the same as when I was a boy. This is a rival to the bears, and is now owned by Mondelez.
Strange how everything ends up as a two horse race..

I'm not sure if we have anything called 'gummy bears' in the UK, though we might do. We definitely have 'jelly babies' though. They are shaped like little people/babies I suppose (but not very lifelike, thankfully!).

I think of those as gummy bears, although I can’t remember if that’s because I saw the name on a packet or heard it somewhere else. Generally, unless sweets are very well known by brand (like Jelly Babies), people just call them sweets.

"Jelly babies", no matter what their shape bear or any other animal or thing that kids and many adults like to chew.
