How to improve listening comprehension
Español seems to be spoken at a very fast pace which makes it extremely hard to comprehend at times . How do you improve your ability to hear the spoken language and comprehend it when you struggle to hear the words .

First you gotta get used to the words, even in slow pace. I'd consider watching cartoons or movies/tv shows or other slow-paced things. Then you'll want to evolve, and try to watch more fast-paced things with subtitles on, you'll start to figure out eventually. You'll get used to it. And then, just go for no subtitles whatsoever, and there you go.

Hi Jermaine,
Try this: Watch Movies in Spanish with Spanish Subtitles.
A great exercise is to find a short scene with plenty of dialogue between two characters.
Watch it with the subtitles a few times until you can distinguish every word. Then watch it a few more times without the subtitles, listening carefully to the words and how they’re spoken.
Which parts of the words are stressed?
Where are the pauses?
Which words or phrases are strung together to sound like a single word?
Say the lines out loud as the character says them, then switch parts and respond to the words that are spoken. Do this enough times and you’ll never forget how those certain words and phrases are pronounced.
Best wishes,
Marina

As other people said here I believe it´s very important to find material suitable for your level, it shouldn´t be too easy but challenging enough for you. As a personal recommendation, I´d try to stick to one accent first. The sounds, grammar and vocabulary can differ from country to country. Un saludo!! :)

Hello, Jermaine
You need to start low and listen to material that is suitable to your level; so if you're if you're a beginner, I would not advise you to listen to the radio, for example. As Breno suggests, watching cartoons or videos for young children would be a good start for you or podcasts for beginners. You can find some here https://www.notesinspanish.com/category/beginners-podcast/. You can also try watching films or documentaries with Spanish subtitles.
