Wish / Wish for I wrote this sentence "Money was wished by 39% of men" But some person corrected me "Money was wished for by 39% of men" ( It is almost the same sentence, but instead of "wished" there is "wished for") I don't understand why I should use "wished for" in this sentence? Am I right what it just sounds more naturally with "for"? Or is it even mistake if I don't use "for" in this sentence?

You have to use the word "for" in that sentence. If you don't want to use the word "for" for some reason, you can say it was "wanted by..." or "desired by..." A better way to say that sentence would be "39% of men wished for money."

Because 'wish for' is a phrasal verb, which gives the exact meaning you intend and there is no usage of 'wish by' together. At least, that's AFAIK. [wish for something] to hope that something that you want will happen by magic or by the power of your thoughts.

In my opinion you don't have to use it as wished for. I think it would sound even better if you say just wished.

39% of men have a desire for wealth.
