I've never been camping There is a short conversation. A:I camped in the mountain with some friends on the weekend,we put up a tent and cooked outside. B: That sounds fun.I've never been camping. A:You should try it ! I wonder if I can change the sentence'I'v never been camping' into 'I've never camped'.

If you've never camped at all: I've never been camping. (Good) I've never gone camping. (Good, similar) I've never camped. (OK, less common) If you've never camped at a certain place: I've never camped at the Grand Canyon. (Good. I go camping but I've never camped there, or I've been there but I've never camped there)

To me 'I've never camped before.' DOES NOT sound more natural than "I have never been camping". Quite the opposite. Might be a regional difference.

Hi 周秋心, You should say "I camped in the mountains.... Or "We went to Mount ..." If you stay overnight it's assumed you camped there. "I've never been camping" is good if you haven't been camping before. "I've never been to..." is used if you haven't been to a campsite. "I've never camped at..." is seldom used.
