look out
Hello,
Can you please let me know the meaning of the sentence below?
"Look, I am gonna look out for you, alright? and, better things are on the horizon."
Here, the phrase makes me wonder is to look out. Does it mean to send a person off?
In the situation where the sentence was used, a person was accompanying a terminated saying that expression.
Thank you.

To look after someone means to take care of them. I this instance they are assuring the person that although things may look bad - with what just happened or is about to happen - they will help put things right in time.
